Pallas Foods is the largest food business in Ireland with a team of over 1,300 people delivering fresh, frozen, non-food and ambient food products to thousands of customers every night. They came to PepTalk in the second half of 2019 looking to support employees in a wider, more human context. Employee surveys had shown an appetite for a wellbeing programme.
Heading
In June 2020 Pallas Foods took part in their first Workplace Wellness Championships (WWC). The WWC is a bit of friendly competition between companies using the PepTalk platform. The aim is to amass the most amount of points from physical, learning and community-driven wellness activities over a three week period.

After three weeks of competition, Pallas Foods were crowned winner of the Workplace Wellness Championship 2020.
"Opportunities for team members from different business functions such as Sales, Operations and Shared Services to collaborate and build relationships can be limited; their paths may never cross on a working day.
We in Pallas really wanted to create opportunities for team building and bonding in an organic way rather than through structured social activities.
We knew the PepTalk hub would help solve this issue but the adoption and usage by employees during the Workplace Wellness Championships was really impressive”

Learning & Development, Pallas Foods
AIB is one of Ireland’s largest financial institutions employing over 9,000 people across retail branches, commercial centres and head office locations. Even prior to the pandemic AIB had demonstrated their commitment to putting their people first by appointing a Group Wellbeing Officer in 2019.
The onset of the global pandemic at the beginning of 2020 highlighted a need for AIB to further invest in the development of team culture and organisational level wellbeing. As employees and customers were physically disconnected from each other, that sudden loss of community now held risks not just for the wellbeing of the individual employees but for the organisation as a whole. Without action, the business risk would be far reaching.
The primary intention of the AIB leadership was to move to a more proactive, employee centric approach and for the first time leverage technology to reach all of their employees when they needed it. To do this they knew they needed to find a way to really scale wellbeing but also find a way to keep people connected, enjoy themselves and maintain that community spirit within the workplace that was under threat. As a highly data driven organisation, a measure of engagement with the programme and initiatives was also important.
The wellbeing team at AIB, worked closely with PepTalk to establish an action driven, mobile community hub where employees could continue to interact and maintain social cohesion.
“At AIB we are committed to providing all of our staff with all necessary resources to ensure they feel supported across every aspect of their wellbeing, this is more important than ever in the current climate.
"We needed a wellbeing solution that was innovative, could scale across our organisation quickly and would be easily accessible to employees when they need it.
The PepTalk platform provides an excellent mix of wellbeing supports delivered in a fun, dynamic manner that will engage and inspire staff throughout the year.”

Free Up Resources
The PepTalk platform is fully loaded with a program of multimedia content intended to drive behavioural change. More importantly, it also has the capability to deliver a gamified experience without a lot of heavy lifting from internal teams.
Lead With Data
AIB really leaned into the regular check-in feature, which takes a snapshot in time of how employees are feeling. AIB were now able to turn to data to understand where they could be more efficient and impactful.
